Why We Coach
Most of the athletes we work with don’t lack motivation.

What they often lack is clarity.
We created Ascend to provide structure without rigidity, progression without burnout, and support that respects both performance and wellbeing.
We don’t see coaching as delivering sessions.
We see it as building confidence, understanding and sustainable development over time.

I’ve always been drawn to endurance sport because of what it teaches, especially in mindset — patience, resilience and perspective.
In coaching, I’m most interested in helping athletes understand their training. When you know the why behind your training and challenges, motivation, enjoyment, confidence all rise naturally. Combine them all and the results will show.
My background in Swim, Bike and Run - whether individual disciplines or altogether, allows me to support athletes not just in performance, but in building durability and long-term progression.
Away from coaching, you’ll usually find me outdoors somewhere. Either on the bike or some water sports fun! Often involving a search for good coffee, those quieter hidden gem places.

Sophie
Sport has always been a space where I’ve seen people discover more about themselves.
As a coach, I value consistency and thoughtful progression. I’m particularly passionate about helping athletes find balance — performing well while still enjoying the process.
My experience in endurance sports helps me integrate strength and movement into training in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.


Lisa
Nutrition and fuelling can often feel complicated. I’m passionate about making it approachable, practical and empowering.
I believe fuelling should enhance performance without adding stress — helping athletes feel energised, resilient and confident in their preparation.
When nutrition aligns with training, everything begins to feel more cohesive.
Although we each bring different experience, our work is collaborative.
We share ideas.
We discuss athletes together.
We ensure support feels cohesive rather than fragmented.
